I am so grateful to Northern Water Alliance founders James Reents and Mary Ackerman who hosted a special screening Union Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Hackensack, MN. The screening of the documentary film “First Daughter and the Black Snake” had a packed house of over 100 people. A dinner was served and Algin and Harvey and his wife Morningstar Goodsky sang traditional Ojibwe songs. It was significant to be showing the film in the room where many scenes were filmed. None of the scenes ended up in the film but people there remembered me and the librarian gave me a copy of the Smithsonian NAMI collection with my photo of Sonja Holy Eagle on the cover. That was so cool. Then Morningstar Goodsky gifted me with an eagle feather and the tears arrived.
